Shackle set manufacturers tell you how to check a shackle.
1. Check the shackle regularly.
2. Check the stretch and wear of the arc of the shackle body. The arc is elongated, which means that the metal is overloaded.
3. Check whether the shackle ball and the screw hole are bent. Bending indicates excessive side load.
4. Check all shackle pins for deformation, surface flaws, wear and breaks.
5. All pins must be straight, and all screw holes must match the pins exactly.
6. Please replace the bent, excessively worn shackles exceeding 10% of the original diameter, deformed pins, or shackles with deformed screw holes in time.

Precautions for use of shackles
1. Do not replace the shackle pin with other bolts or unknown pin bodies. The load will bend the bolt.
2. It is not allowed to pull the shackle at an oblique angle. This situation will increase the inner width of the shackle ball and deform the shackle. During use, wrap the pin with a washer to avoid tilting and center the stressed object.
3. Do not use shackles that are only secured by cotter pins.
4. Do not use shackles with bent pins or deformed bodies.
5. Do not force the hammer to wedge the shackle to a specific position.
6. When using multiple slings, the angle must not exceed 120 degrees.
